Residential Life Coach

We are always looking for good applicants with varied backgrounds who would like to be in relationship with foster care teenagers.  Preference given to applicants with bachelor degrees in social work, psychology, fine arts (music/theatre/dance/art), education, physical education/recreation, or life experience as a parent.  You must be at least 21 years old, hold a valid ND driver's license, and able to pass criminal and child abuse/neglect background checks.  Residential Life Coaches: full-time positions-40 hours per week and part-time positions-6-24 hours per week.

Residential Life Coach is responsible for overseeing the general daily living for youth ages 10-19 years of age, throughout 3 different group homes.
Daily responsibilities are assisting youth with transportation to and from school, daily appointments, overseeing the general safety of each youth, working alongside a team of staff to help youth reach their individual goals utilizing the trauma-informed training and tools offered to staff.

The Residential Life Coach is responsible for fulfilling the mission of Charles Hall Youth Services by affirming our core values of mercy, justice and belonging. The Residential Life Coach will connect with youth using their own personal style in a way that supports the guiding premise of our standards of practice. Such staff-youth interactions will reflect the Charles Hall experience by modeling and building healthy, positive relationships.


1. At least 21 years of age

2. Prefer at least two years of post-high school education and experience working with vulnerable or marginalized populations

3. Ability to pass background checks including driver’s license record, criminal history, and child abuse and neglect history, including charges which may be processed or pending, employment history, and references both personal and professional.

4. Ability to pass initial health physical examination, annual TB tests, and random drug screening

5. Valid driver's license and proof of current vehicle insurance

6. Knowledge of human behavior, including individual and family dynamics

7. Ability to balance and manage a multitude of duties and responsibilities

8. High level of creativity, motivation and initiative

9. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, and also possess strong teamwork skills

10. Flexibility to work varied hours

11. You must hold a valid ND driver's license.
